In the field of translation and interpreter studies, the Centre successfully applied, as project leader, for an Erasmus+ project (eTransFair), from 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2019, in partnership with Univie (Vienna) and Hermes Traducciones (Spain). The first outcomes of the project include a competence card for specialized translators and a transferable training scheme, based on both desktop research (carried out by UniVie) and on a survey (conducted by the Centre) involving 12 Hungarian translator training institutions.

Additional outputs of the research project (with an expected 130.000 people impacted by the outputs) are:

· training materials with a set of e-modules in seven key competences,

· a methodology portal (Pool of Assessment Techniques) designed for the assessment of specialised translations

· a methodology portal for the development of translator competences and the exchange of training methods (see also https://etransfair.eu)

The Centre organised an international conference (Fit-for-market translator and interpreter training in a digital age) in Budapest, 28-29 September 2018, to disseminate the project’s first results (see also: https://etransfair.eu/fitformarket2018).

Every September since 2007, the Centre for Modern Languages has also organised an annual conference on teaching translation and interpreting. The proceedings of the 2017 conference were published in: Hilóczki, Á. (ed.) Fókuszban a fordítás értékelése. [Translation Assessment in Focus].
