In the filed of applied linguistics and language pedagogy, a number of research projects have been carried out in recent years. The Centre is actively involved in the activities of SZOKOE (the Hungarian Association of LSP Researchers and Teachers), both as the Secretariat of SZOKOE, editor of the Association’s journal (Porta Lingua, http://szokoe.hu/porta-lingua) and co-organiser of its annual conference 2017. It also cooperates with the Association of Language Schools (NYESZE), and hosted its annual conference in 2018 at BME, as co-organiser.

In the field of pedagogy, the development project launched in 2016 by the Centre to improve teaching competences also provides impetus to the study of a vital field of research: the development of teacher competences through cooperation schemes.

Members of the Centre regularly publish their research findings in a number of Hungarian academic journals, such as Fordítástudomány (Translation Studies), Modern Nyelvoktatás (Modern Language Teaching), and hold lectures in their respective fields at both Hungarian conferences (ONK Conference, SZOKOE Conference, NYESZE Conference) and conferences organized by other language teaching associations abroad.
